It is with great pleasure that we express our warmest congratulations for the election of Ms. Efi Tziva, member of the HILA BoD, as a First Degree Professor in the Department of Economic and Commercial Law of the Faculty of Law in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The 8th AIDA Europe Conference titled "Landfall of the Tech Storm" - How Technology is changing client interaction - Legal issues in distribution, claims and insurance services & other key developments in insurance and reinsurance was held in Lisbon, Portugal, on 3 & 4 October 2019.
Among a number of development matters, the topics discussed included the preparation of the Annual General Assembly and the AIDA Europe Conference 2019 in Lisbon, the strategic direction of the Association and the assessment of the feasibility for AIDA Europe to provide superior academic education.
The XVth Congress of AIDA (Association Internationale de Droit des Assurances/International Insurance Law Association World) World, took place on 11 - 13 of October 2018, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The VIIth Conference of AIDA (Association Internationale de Droit des Assurances/International Insurance Law Association Europe) Europe, took place April 12 - 13, 2018 in Warsaw, Poland, organised by AIDA Europe in cooperation with Kozminski University and the AIDA Polish Chapter affiliated at Kozminski University
The VIth AIDA Europe Conference, entitled "Flood of Change: Insurance in Times of Change – Technology, Climate, Regulation" took place, in collaboration with the Austrian AIDA Chapter, on 3 and 4 November 2016, in Vienna, Austria.
The AIDA World Congress takes place every four years, the previous one having been in Paris in 2010 and the next one, after Rome, to be in Rio in 2018. It is one of the major gatherings of those interested in insurance law which takes place regularly although at four year intervals.
The two day, V AIDA Europe Conference titled "In the Beginning it is the Market, In the End it is the Law", took place in association with the Danish AIDA Chapter on 11 and 12 June 2015, in Copenhagen, Denmark (http://www.aida.org.uk/AIDAEurop/Past-Events.asp). The conference included eight Working Party meetings which took place on Thursday 11 June and the full plenary conference that took place on 12 June.
The works of the international conference, dealing with the major contemporary topic “Life, Health and Pension Insurance in the New Economic Environment” and organized by the Hellenic Insurance Law Association - the Greek Chapter of the International Insurance Law Association (AIDA) - in association with AIDA, were completed in Athens, Greece, 7-9 May 2014.
