The two day, V AIDA Europe Conference titled "In the Beginning it is the Market, In the End it is the Law", took place in association with the Danish AIDA Chapter on 11 and 12 June 2015, in Copenhagen, Denmark (http://www.aida.org.uk/AIDAEurop/Past-Events.asp). The conference included eight Working Party meetings which took place on Thursday 11 June and the full plenary conference that took place on 12 June.
The conference Programme included:
- “Challenges for Umbrella and Global Programme Policies – How to Cope with the Changing Regulatory and Legal Requirements”, chaired by Christian Felderer, recently retired, General Counsel, CEO Hub Zurich & Hub General Counsel, SCOR Global P&C General Counsel. Member of the AIDA Presidential Council;
- Causation – “The Damned Event”, chaired by Jerome Kullmann, President, AIDA;
- Class Actions and Legal Funding, chaired by Torben Bondrop, Partner, Plesners, Copenhagen;
- Hot Topics, chaired by Professor Dr Herman Cousy, Member of AIDA Presidential Council and Vice-Chairman AIDA Scientific Council, Leuven.
The programme had been prepared by the Programme Organising Committee with the assistance of the AIDA Europe In House Sub-Committee. The latter Committee formed an Advisory Group of In House Counsel in various companies and organisations in Europe to advise as to topical subjects that they considered would be of interest for the conference.
